MMS Support Services Team
The Support Service Team is committed to supporting a school environment that enables all students to achieve their full potential. The staff works collaboratively with classroom teacher and parents to provide a variety of programs that mirror the diversity of the student population through collaboration, consultation, team-teaching, and resource classrooms.

A wide variety of support personnel provide services for the entire population. These services include:

  • Guidance counselors help students solve a variety of personal, academic and social problems.

  • The full time school nurse and a health aide provide a health services for students in order to help each child attain and maintain an optimum state of health.

  • The psychologist provides counseling services, testing, testing interpretation, and referral to outside agencies as needed.

  • The speech therapist provides services for those students with speech/communication difficulties.

  • Title I teachers support students in team taught and remedial classrooms with an emphasis on developing reading and math skills.

  • The ESL teacher assists with the communication skills needed by students who speak a language other than English and supports their integration into mainstream classrooms.

  • Special education teachers work with classroom teachers to provide a continuum of services for students in a variety of environments according to their Individual Education Plans.
