Goodwin's principal was selected as the recipient of the Outstanding Administrator Award from the University of Connecticut NEAG School of Education Alumni Society.

SafeSurf, the Internet's leading Web rating system, and WorldVillage, the web's most popular family-oriented site, presented Goodwin Elementary with the School 2000 award. This special award is given in recognition of schools who are utilizing the technology of the future to educate the children of today.

Goodwin has been awarded the 2001 Golden Web Award by the I.A.W.M.D. for its unique website in design, content and originality.
